Man Arrested for Attempted Abduction of Child in Paralowie
A man has been arrested and charged with attempted abduction of a child in Adelaide's north. The incident occurred on Monday evening when a couple and their daughter were walking in Paralowie.
A dramatic incident in Adelaide's north has led to the arrest of a young man, following an alleged attempted abduction of a child.
Arrest Made After Disturbing Incident
Police have confirmed that an 18-year-old man from Paralowie was taken into custody by CIB detectives after a thorough investigation into the incident, which occurred on Monday just before 7:30pm.
The incident unfolded when a couple and their small daughter were walking along Niven Drive at Paralowie. According to police, a man suddenly picked up the girl, "and carried her a short distance, before putting her down again". The suspect then fled the scene, last seen heading towards Marvin Way.
The swift action of law enforcement led to the arrest of the 18-year-old, who has been charged with the abduction of a child. Police have refused him bail, and he is set to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court.
