Australian television celebrated its night of nights at the 2024 Logie Awards, with Netflix's acclaimed adaptation of Trent Dalton's Boy Swallows Universe dominating the ceremony. The blockbuster series took home a staggering haul of trophies, securing its place as one of the most successful drama productions in recent television history.

The Boy Swallows Universe Sweep

The coming-of-age drama was the undisputed star of the evening, sweeping the major acting and production categories. Young star Felix Cameron had a monumental night, winning both the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent and the prestigious Best Lead Actor in a Drama award for his portrayal of Eli Bell.

The show's supporting cast was similarly celebrated, with legendary actor Bryan Brown taking home the award for Best Supporting Actor, and rising star Sophie Wilde winning Best Supporting Actress. To cap off its highly successful night, Boy Swallows Universe was also officially crowned the Best Miniseries or Telemovie.

Larry Emdur Claims Gold

In the night’s most anticipated announcement, television veteran Larry Emdur was awarded the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television. Emdur, a mainstay on Australian screens for decades, also claimed the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter for his work hosting The Chase Australia and The Morning Show.

In other major categories, television icon Rebecca Gibney was formally inducted into the Logies Hall of Fame, celebrating her illustrious multi-decade career on screen. Star of stage and screen Deborah Mailman secured the Best Lead Actress in a Drama award for her performance in Total Control.
