Man arrested over alleged online threats to police in SA

A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged with making online threats towards police officers after a joint operation between state and federal police in South Australia's Mid North region. He was refused bail and is due to appear in court again on November 5.

A 34-year-old man has been refused bail after being charged with allegedly making online threats towards police officers.

The arrest was made following a joint operation between state and federal police, who searched a home in South Australia's Mid North region.

Charges and Arrest

The man was charged with using a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence, a Commonwealth Criminal Code offence that carries a maximum penalty of five years' imprisonment.

According to police, the charge relates to a series of social media posts that were referred to the AFP's National Security Investigations team by SA Police last month.

Court Appearance

The man appeared in court on Friday, where he was refused bail.

He is due to reappear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on November 5.
