Researchers are calling on local residents to help monitor coastal erosion in a small South Australian town by flying drones and capturing images of the shoreline.

The project, a collaboration between the District Council of Robe and Flinders University, aims to better understand the impact of erosion on the town's coastline and inform decision-making on how to manage it.

A New Initiative to Monitor Coastal Erosion

Associate Professor Graziela Miot da Silva, a coastal geomorphologist and oceanographer at Flinders University, said the project was part of a new initiative to increase the observation of coastal erosion around Australia.
