Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Barossa Valley Hinterland Stabbing

A 22-year-old man from Nuriootpa has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing incident in the Barossa Valley hinterland yesterday evening.

Emergency services were called to a private property on Pine Creek Road at Bethel, where a 30-year-old Kapunda man sustained multiple stab wounds. The victim was flown to hospital in a critical condition and is now considered stable.

A police statement confirmed that the 22-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene without incident. He was charged with attempted murder and refused police bail.

Police said the incident was not random and that the men involved are known to each other. The suspect is expected to appear in court on Monday.
