South Australia Police said the woman was driving a Nissan sedan in which the girl was a passenger when it was involved in a collision with a Subaru station wagon at Moana on September 22.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Commercial Road about 6:45pm. The woman was taken to hospital in a serious condition, but the girl died at the scene.

The 37-year-old Seaford Meadows man who was driving the Subaru was also taken to hospital with minor injuries and was later discharged, police said.

The woman, who has lost her licence, was bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court in November.
